If you are meeting me for the first time, or even if you already know me, I hope that in reading through my blog you will get to know me a little better and get a sense of what I can do. I know that hiring a photographer can be intimidating. You’re letting someone in to capture personal moments in your life, and so you want to feel comfortable. It actually works both ways, because if you are comfortable with me behind the camera then you’ll see it in the photos. So believe me, I want to get to know you… but first here’s a little about me…

Photography is one of my passions, something that I’ve loved for a long time and studied in high school and college, graduating from a liberal arts school with an art degree. It’s interesting because I started photography in the darkroom, learning how to shoot film, develop it, print individual photos and then develop them by hand. I really loved that side of photography, where standing over that tray of developer allowed you to see your work come to life as it slowly appeared on paper- but there came a time to switch over to digital. As a result of that formal training, both in the darkroom and on the computer, I learned the fundamentals behind photography, composition, light and developing… which I think has allowed me to be a more well-rounded photographer.

So, now I shoot strictly digital, which for my purposes now allows me and my clients much more flexibility. I also put significant time into editing all my photos, doing everything to perfect the photos I have taken and create works of art. So, when I do shoot a session the price that you are paying is for much more than just the actual session time!
